This class will give you the basic skills and knowledge to create delicious and healthy meals from scratch in your own home kitchen. This is the perfect starting point to learn the fundamentals of cooking and master several different dishes in the one cooking class! In this class, we will discuss different cooking methods e.g.. baking, frying, steaming, etc as well as appropriate cooking temperatures and knife skills. We will also focus on measurement and it’s importance in the kitchen as well as when to toss aside your measuring cups aside and cook with confidence and intuition (you will get there, we promise).
In this class we will show you how to cook the perfect poached egg and the perfect omelette using quality ingredients and the importance of fresh herbs in the kitchen. We will then make a quick and easy napoli sauce to enjoy with our perfectly cooked pasta and a discussion on pasta varieties and the different sauces as well as which flavours work well together. You will then master how to perfectly steam fish, make a crisp green salad and a fresh salad dressing that is essential to have up your sleeve. You will enjoy this with the perfectly cooked steak that you will master during class and we will also discuss the many different cuts available. Lastly, we will hit the woks to create a quick and easy mid week stir fry that is bursting with flavour and how to cook rice to perfection.
